Why trust us?Google entered the mobile market a bit later than many other brands like Apple and Samsung, but it’s doing quite well, especially with its mid-range and flagship phones. While the latest Google Pixel 8 lineup has already come out, the previous generation is still good, and if you want a budget mid-range phone, the Google Pixel 7a is a great option. Even better, while it usually goes for $499, Amazon has discounted it to just $375, saving you a tidy $175. The Google Pixel 7a has a lot of great things going for it and a couple of smaller downsides. For starters, it has a great 6.1-inch OLED screen that runs a 1080 x 2400 resolution, so you get some great color reproduction and image quality; plus, it runs at 90Hz, giving you a smoother overall experience. Under the screen is a Tensor G2 chip, one generation behind the newest G3, but the same one you’ll find on the Pixel 7 Pro, so you still get some excellent overall performance. That said, it does tend to get a little hot with extended use, so that’s certainly something to keep in mind.In terms of cameras, the Pixel 7a has surprisingly good ones, with a 64MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide sensor, although the sensors aren’t as big as the ones on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, so nighttime pictures aren’t going to be the same quality. As for battery life, that’s the biggest weak spot of the Pixel 7a; with a 4,385mAh battery, it’s going to last you a day or so with heavy use, at best, so expect to charge the phone at least once or twice a day. On the bright side, it does have 7.5W wireless charging, so if you have a wireless charger and get into the practice of setting your phone on it regularly, you should be fine. While the Google Pixel 7a might be a hard sell at its full price, the discount price of $375 from Amazon makes this a much more attractive mid-range phone to grab. On the other hand, if you’re still not convinced, it’s worth taking a look at some of these other great phone deals as well. If you’re prone to misplacing your stuff, you may want to purchase a Bluetooth tracker like the Apple AirTag, especially now that it’s on sale from Amazon. You’ll get four AirTags for a discounted price of $89, for savings of $10 on their original price of $99, but we’re not sure how long this offer will remain available. These devices will help everyone in the family, so you want to get them for cheaper than usual, you’re going to have to proceed with the purchase immediately. Why you should buy the Apple AirTag The Apple AirTag is featured in our roundup of the best Bluetooth trackers because it’s very easy to use — a simple one-tap setup will instant connect the device to your iPhone or iPad. If you need to locate the AirTag, and the item where it’s placed, you just need to launch the Find My app. With Precision Finding featuring Ultra Wideband technology, you’ll know exactly where the AirTag is, with the app capable of telling you the direction and distance to your lost stuff. You can even play a sound on the AirTag’s built-in speaker for further assistance. You may or may not be surprised to know that Amazon is kicking off its Prime Day Big Deal Days event in October, much closer to the holiday shopping season. Alongside the many Prime Day deals that Amazon has been running, many include Apple’s iPhone in both old and new form. One of the best deals right now includes the third-generation iPhone SE for just $149. It’s a huge savings of $230 compared to the original price of $379, although there is a catch — the phone is locked to a Straight Talk prepaid subscription. Still, if that isn’t an issue for you, this is a super sweet deal. You’re going to need to be fast, though, as this offer will be gone before you know it. Here’s what to expect if you’re going to take advantage of the offer:Why you should buy the third-generation Apple iPhone SE The third-generation Apple iPhone SE, which was released in March 2022, is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip — the same one that you’ll find in the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14. That means the Apple iPhone SE 2022 is pretty powerful for its price, with snappy performance when you launch even the most demanding apps and when you’re multitasking between them. The device is also equipped with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, which may be small compared to the screens of other modern smartphones, but it makes up for the lack of size with excellent color accuracy and overall high quality. The Google Pixel Tablet, which was just launched a few months ago, is already part of Amazon’s new batch of Prime Day deals for Prime Big Deal Days 2023. Originally priced at $599, the 256GB model of the device is currently available for just $509, for savings of $90. We’re not sure if this discount will last until the end of the shopping event though, or if stocks will still be available by then, so if you’re interested in the Google Pixel Tablet, there’s no time for hesitation — complete the purchase as soon as you can.Why you should buy the Google Pixel Tablet The Google Pixel Tablet is fast and smooth as it’s powered by 8GB of RAM and the Google Tensor G2 chip, which is the same one found in the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro, and it also features Google AI, which will keep making improvements to the tablet’s performance depending on your usage. Its 11-inch touchscreen offers 2560 x 1600 resolution, and it ships with Android 13 pre-installed with the promise of three years of operating system updates.Upgrade your lifestyleDigital Trends helps readers keep tabs on the fast-paced world of tech with all the latest news, fun product reviews, insightful editorials, and one-of-a-kind sneak peeks.
