Energy Minister says no cut in solar net metering rates vows to curb electricity theft

Muhammad Ali, the Energy Minister, said on Monday that the interim federal government had no plans to lower the solar net metering rates. Solar net metering is a system that allows people who install solar panels to sell the surplus electricity they produce during the day to the National Grid, which helps them reduce their electricity bills.

The minister, who was accompanied by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori at the Governor House, told the media that a nationwide campaign against electricity theft had started. He said the government was doing its best to cut down the electricity rates.
