- New SSD technologies: Quad-level cell (QLC) flash will gain more popularity as it offers lower cost, higher capacity, and better durability than triple-level cell (TLC) flash.
- Cyber security against ransomware: Storage vendors will provide cyber storage capabilities that enable active defense and rapid recovery from cyber attacks, such as immutability and archive storage classes.
- Better use of unstructured data for analytical insights: Enterprises will deploy data storage management solutions and single file and object storage platforms to classify, optimize, and consolidate their unstructured data, and leverage it for reporting, analytics, and IoT.
